About This Tour

Discover the thrill of reaching Etna's summit with the excursion to the Crateri Sommitali from Etna Nord! The adventure begins in Piano Provenzana, where you will meet your volcanological guide for a briefing. On board special 4x4 vehicles (ticket not included), you will climb up to 2950 metres, admiring the breathtaking lunar landscape. From here, the trek continues between ancient and recent lava fields to the summit at 3300 metres, where you can observe the Crateri Sommitali: Nord-Est, Sud-Est, Bocca Nuova and Voragine, surrounded by fumaroles and spectacular degassing. The descent among volcanic sands will take you to Piano delle Concazze, from where you can admire the Valle del Leone and the majestic Valle del Bove. The return by 4x4 will conclude this extraordinary experience on the summit of Europe's highest active volcano!
